Social Sciences (CAPS) GRD 5

Includes Geography and History.
Learners explore maps, climate, people, culture, past events, and historical developments in South Africa and the world.

Natural Sciences & Technology (CAPS) GRD 5

Explores basic science concepts such as energy, matter, life processes, plants and animals, Earth and space, and simple technology principles. Encourages curiosity and investigation.

Mathematics (CAPS) GRD 5

 Focuses on number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, geometry, patterns, data handling, and problem-solving. Helps learners build strong mathematical reasoning

Afrikaans First Additional Language (CAPS) GRD 5

Covers reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills in Afrikaans. Builds foundational FAL abilities and prepares learners for higher grades.

 English Home Language (CAPS) GRD 5

Develops reading, comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening skills. Learners practise language use in real-life contexts to improve fluency and confidence.
